Company overview

Manufacture focus, service offers:
The Microsystems Center Bremen (MCB) is an application-oriented university R&D center. The main focus is on microsystems technology and microelectronics. As a service provider, the MCB develops microsystems and their individual components as part of bilateral contracts and public research projects in cooperation with its partners and customers.
In addition to sensors and actuators, this also includes analog and/or digital signal processing in discrete and integrated design (ASIC) tailored to the application.
The MCB develops intelligent RFID systems for telematic data and energy transmission for a variety of applications, especially in the fields of logistics, medical, automotive, industrial and environmental technology.
The MCB supports product ideas from conception and feasibility studies through to development and prototype production. Essential parts of the MCB are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
Technology usage:
We have access to a modern computer infrastructure with all common microsystems technology processes and extensive development and simulation software for our developments.
The available processes range from microstructuring, molding and additive techniques to assembly and connection technology for silicon and non-CMOS-compatible materials. Our systems allow the processing of substrates from 100mm and 1500mm. We have several laboratories with the appropriate technology and measuring equipment for assembly and interconnection technology (AVT) as well as for characterization and quality assurance.
Detailed information on the technical infrastructure can be found on our website.
Know-how:
Sensors / actuators based on MST technologies:
Flow sensors, fluidic systems and channel structures,. Gas chromatography columns and gas analysis systems, pressure transducers (microfin + sensors), optical switching elements and –arrays, wireless sensor networks (RFID and telemetry) especially for logistics.

Microelectronics:
Simulation and design of analog and/or digital circuits, signal processing, ASIC design (analog and/or digital), telemetry (transmission of energy and data), modeling of MST components.
Exhibition participation:
Sensor Nuremberg, HannoverMesse Hannover, Actuator Bremen and others.
Contact and cooperation research:
As an R&D facility, MCB is primarily interested in studies, bilateral research contracts and research as part of public projects (BMBF, EU, etc.) in the field of application-specific, intelligent micro and RFID systems.
