In one of the most beautiful areas of north-west Germany, in the Ammerland parkland, lies the Ebkenhof in the Ihorst district of the county town of Westerstede. The district of Ihorst is approx. 7 km from the district town of Westerstede. The regional center of Oldenburg and the district town of Leer can be easily reached by car in about 20 minutes via the A28 freeway. With two horse stables and a total of 24 spacious horse boxes, some with paddocks, additional open stables for young horses and ponies, horse washing areas, tack room and parking spaces for horse trailers as well as two lighted riding arenas, lunging circle, a variety of horse pastures separated by typical hedgerows, optimal accommodation for your horses is guaranteed. The landscape is characterized by small curved watercourses, straight canals and bridges, green dykes, historic hedgerows, moorland, forest and farm roads right next to the facility, the location offers ideal conditions for leisure activities and relaxing riding.

The landscape in the Ammerland is characterized by small winding watercourses, straight canals and Fehn bridges, green dykes, historic wall hedges, moorland, forest and farm roads directly at the facility, the Ebkenhof as a riding and boarding stable offers ideal conditions for leisure activities and relaxing riding. The route shown below (approx. 9 km) leads directly from Ebkenhof along sandy paths, narrow agricultural roads, past the Ihorst wine tavern as a rest stop and bird sanctuaries to the Aper dyke. On the Aper dyke at the "Große Norderbäke", the route continues to the bridge at Schützenstrasse. Here you return to the Lange Wischen via polder roads. This bridle path is ideal for riding out with your horse and is located near the following places in Ammerland: Westerstede, Ihorst, Apen, Augustfehn, Remels, Ostfriesland, Barßel.
