Know-how:
The BCM is an efficient and scientifically competent partner in joint research and development projects, which are mainly financed through the acquisition of third-party funds. By combining the specific expertise of the companies involved, the development of innovative mechatronic products can be made possible. Synergy effects resulting from cooperation with industry and also in inter-institutional cooperation are intended to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of innovative technical solutions and thus achieve an increase in scientific competence in the field of mechatronics.
Annotations:
The scientific institution BCM is an interdisciplinary institution of the University of Bremen and the Bremen University of Applied Sciences and is operated according to economic principles. Within the BCM, the participating institutes and departments of the University and the University of Applied Sciences Bremen form the basis for the bundling and further development of the jointly available, already extensive expert knowledge in the field of mechatronics. Application-oriented research and development projects are carried out in cooperation with companies at regional and supra-regional level.
Exhibition participation:
The BCM has been holding its Bremen Mechatronics Days since it was founded. Industry partners present the diverse projects from the various technology areas in applied mechatronics in specialist lectures. In a parallel exhibition, the research and development partners show exhibits from ongoing projects. This event has been held every two years since 2006.
Contact and cooperation research:
Improving the performance and competitiveness of small and medium-sized companies in particular in the field of mechatronics is an important regional economic objective of the BCM, as this can make a significant contribution to increasing the economic strength of the state of Bremen and to maintaining and creating new jobs. The content of the BCM is therefore primarily geared towards the needs of Bremen's economy.
