After its foundation on January 1, 1964, Stürmann & Kessler quickly established itself as one of the most renowned German importers and distributors of high-quality mosaics from the Far East.
In the seventies, however, Stürmann & Kessler switched conceptually from mosaics from the Far East to Italian design and thus to larger wall and floor tiles. On the one hand, of course, this was due to the proximity to Italy as a production location and the logistical advantages and, on the other, to the technical advantage of Italian manufacturers.
Later in the 1980s, the company became one of the market leaders in the nationwide mail order business for tile accessories such as borders, decors, skirtings and mosaics.
In addition to these accessories, the company is still known in the tile trade for its attractive range of wall and floor tiles. Production takes place at the leading production sites in Germany, Italy and Spain.
Mostly manufactured according to the company's own designs and protected by a design patent, the range currently comprises almost 2,000 different items in various colors, formats and materials. Always in stock, they can be delivered nationwide within 48 hours or faster.

With the founding of VABENE-Keramik GmbH on 30.06.2000, the company has specialized in supplying building and pick-up markets with a special range of products, while the brand „SKP – Italian Style“ continues to be reserved exclusively for specialist retailers.
