Backers is a traditional company with roots in the blacksmith's trade since 1816.
Peat extraction machines were manufactured from 1956 until the end of the 1980s. In 1989, Backers started with star screen technology. Today, mobile star screens as well as star screen and mixing machines are manufactured, as well as star screen decks, stationary systems, wind sifters and various additional components.
The machines are used in the waste disposal industry, in road construction and civil engineering, in mining, in composting and in recycling.
Our customers come from all over the world: the star screens with the yellow star are just as familiar in Europe as they are in Japan, Australia and the USA.
All our machines are manufactured in accordance with CE standards. The machine parts of the star screens are partly produced in-house, but also in cooperation with long-standing suppliers.
The final assembly of the Backers star screen machines takes place exclusively at the Twist site (Germany). We currently employ around 35 people here.
